RICHARD H. LEWIS
Mr. Lewis founded Prima Energy Corporation, a natural gas and oil exploration company in 1980, and
served as chairman and chief executive officer of the company until it's sale in 2004. During his
tenure, Prima Energy was named to Forbes Magazine's 200 Best Small Companies in America list seven
times and was ranked the No. 1 Colorado public company for the decade of the 1990's in terms of market
return. He was inducted into the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Hall of Fame in 2000, and in
2004 was an inagural inductee into the Rocky Mountain Oil and Gas Hall of Fame.
He currently serves as the managing general partner of a private investment partnership and president
of the Lewis Family Foundation. He serves on the board of directors of Colorado State Bank and Trust,
EntrePure Industries Inc., MDU Resources Group, Inc., and TPH Partners, L.P., a private equity fund.
Mr. Lewis serves on the executive committee and chairman of the development board of Colorado UpLIFT
and on the boards of Alliance for Choice in Education and Urban Youth Ministries. He previously served
on the Board of Trustees of the Metro Denver YMCA and as a director for the Partnership for the West.
He served ten years on the board of the Colorado Oil and Gas Association, including a term as it's
president.
Mr. Lewis and his wife Carol are both graduates of the University of Colorado, and the parents of
four children. He served two terms on the advisory council to the Leeds School of Business at the
University. He is a past president of the Denver Buff Club and is a founding member of the Buff Club
Cabinet.
